(UHY, the international network)
UHY is a network of independent accounting and consulting firms with offices in nearly 240 major business centres in 78 countries. Over 6,300 staff generated an aggregate income of US$583 million in 2010, ranking UHY the 23rd largest international accounting and consultancy network.
The two UHY founding firms – Hacker Young, in the UK, and Urbach Kahn & Werlin, in the USA – had been working together for some time under a reciprocal agreement when they formed UHY (Urbach Hacker Young) in the mid 1980s to help clients operate in international markets.
In the 25 years since its inception, the network has expanded across the continents around the world and now has regional groups in Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa and the Americas. Today, from
China to Australia, from the United States to the United Kingdom, and most points in between, UHY can engage member offices to enable clients to develop international business successfully. UHY provides unified cross-border teams with in-country expertise. Our drive for professionalism, quality, integrity and innovation combined with our global reach have realised substantial growth for our clients and our members.
UHY is a full member of the Forum of Firms , an association of international networks of accounting firms. The Forum's goal is to promote consistent and high quality standards of cross-border financial reporting and auditing practices worldwide, and the adoption of international auditing standards.
UHY has expanded representation 62% since 2005. Audit & assurance; Corporate finance; Corporate recovery; Forensic accounting; Management consulting; and Tax, are just a few of the areas in which UHY International member firms provide services.
There are also 31 UHY member firms around the world currently registered with the US agency PCAOB, which enables them to undertake audit work on US publicly listed companies.
