- Launch of New Address: KL Office @ The Gardens
- Moving to The Gardens, Mid Valley City, was the top priority for our new partner, Alvin Tee and his team in the KL office. Not only has the work efficiency has improved, the team members have grown from a handful to over 25 professional staff members in a short period of time. The success rate of winning new projects has increased exponentially since we moved to the new office.
- Winning New Service Engagement
- UHY is proud to announce that we have secured the audit assurance service from the management of Sungei Wang Plaza Sdn Bhd. Sungei Wang Plaza, a name known as "The River of Gold" when literally translated is a popular shopping destination amongst tourists and locals. The company has a gross assets value of over RM1.4 billion and shareholders' funds of RM0.9 billion.
- Assist in Foreign Listing
- UHY in Malaysia collaborated with UHY Hacker Young, UK to provide reporting accountants services for the transaction of RedHot Media International Limited, a media broking group incorporating an innovative barter sales trading activity in Malaysia and China, is successfully admitted to Alternative Investment Market (AIM), London on 26 September 2008. At the admission, its market capitalization stood at £29.6 million (approximately RM156.9 million).
- China Company Seeks IPO on Bursa Malaysia
- UHY is delighted to be appointed by Rizhao HengBao as reporting accountants for its listing exercise in year 2008. Rizhao HengBao was incorporated in China, primarily involved in processing, packaging and marketing ready-to-serve foods. The company posts a strong turnover and profit after tax of RMB220 million and RMB71 million respectively in its latest financial year.
- Bond Issue
- UHY participated in 2 on-going and separate Islamic bond issue exercises of fundraising over RM200 million from the sukuk market. UHY was mandated to be the reporting accountants by a conglomerate group in Sabah and a state-owned foundation from Perak.
- Project Manager for Bank Rakyat
- In October 2008, UHY represented by Managing Director of the advisory arm Zulkarnain Bin A Rahim, entered into a service agreement with Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Berhad (Bank Rakyat) to provide certain advisory services in relation to the bank's overseas expansion plan for Islamic banking business.
- Completion of Sale
- Our UHY senior partner, Mr Alvin Tee was appointed by Affin Bank Berhad (Affin Bank) as the receiver and manager (R&M) to manage a former 5 Star hotel operating in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.
- Chinese New Year Open House on 6 February 2009
- Our KL office hosted an open house celebration to usher in the "Oxpicious" year with friends and business associates. It was held at the Club House of Aman Suria Damansara. On a more serious note, it was an opportunity to thank our clients and business associates and acknowledge everyone's dedication in UHY.
- Golf like a Pro on 11 April 2009
- This is our/the KL Office's Sports Club first sports event – Golf. The pre-launch of KL Office Sports Club was held at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC) on 11 April 2009.
- Brushing up on International Audit: A Two-Day Training Programme at Crystal Crown Hotel, Petaling Jaya
- The UHY International Ltd has organized a Regional Training in relation to the "UHY Core International Auditing Standards" at Crystal Crown Hotel, Petaling Jaya on 30 and 31 July 2009. The KL Office is honored to host the program. A total of fourteen (14) delegates from different countries including Netherlands, Vietnam, Estonia, Slovenia and Kazakstan attended the training.
- Colin Wright's Visit to Malaysia
- Colin Wright is an active member of UHY Hacker Young's National Accounts Presentation and Capital Markets Working Groups. He is the audit partner for clients with operations based in a number of countries including Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Estonia, USA, Uganda, Sierra Leone and Syria.
- One of the Biggest Turn-outs Ever for Asia-Pacific meeting
- Ideas for developing business opportunities in countries climbing out of recession were presented to delegates at the UHY Asia-Pacific region meeting in Taipei, Taiwan in July 2009. Partners, managers and staff of host firm UHY L&C Company, CPAs gave a warm welcome to colleagues from around the Asia-Pacific region and beyond at this meeting.
- Annual Trip to Japan
- The long awaited annual trip to Japan began with our KLIA departure on 28th August 2009. Our journey covered sight-seeing activities to various places of interests. We experienced the ride in the bullet train, delicious typical Japanese food, shopping and entertainment. Such an unforgettable experience!
- UHY Forum – Grazalema-Cadiz (Spain) on 9th – 12th September 2009
- UHY in Malaysia has participated in the forum at Grazalema-Cadiz, southern Spain on 9th-12th September 2009. Two (2) of our representatives, Mr. Kong Feck Keat and Ms. Michelle Lim Bee Peng were selected to attend and accept the challenge.
- Team Building & Self Motivation Event 2009
- 16 May 2009 marked the very first team building and self motivation event organized by our KL Office. The event took place at Royale Bintang, Seremban. The event was filled with activities such as speech and debate competitions, outdoor activities and most importantly, a briefing of the KL office handbook.
